Password Reset Software
This type of software is made available to an organization’s end-users (customers) so that they may reset a forgotten network password without contact the help desk or service desk. The user initially enrolls in the application by answering security questions (mother’s maiden name, etc). In the event the user forgets his or her password, they can typically access the application from the login screen (without logging in) or from another computer to answer their security questions and select a new password. This type of software is a key component of ITIL standards and greatly reduces help desk costs.
