Password Management

This process and software aims to manage passwords in the sense that it helps create, define, implement, and maintain the policies that are set forth to restrict access to information in company computer systems. While Help Desk and Service Desk personnel may need access to a variety of information to perform their tasks, in most cases there is no need for them to access payroll information, for instance, nor is there a necessity for a business’ untrained salespersons to access Help Desk files. Password management may set requirements such as password length and acceptable types of characters.
