Change Advisory Board (CAB)
(1) Commonly referred to as a CAB, this is a group of people responsible for approving or rejecting a Change Request. Often there will be levels to a CAB, where the request must pass approval by a lower level before being referred up to a higher level of management. It is also common for one Change Manager in the organization to have overriding authority and accept or reject the CAB’s recommendations. The structure and rules of a CAB as it relates to a Change Request is purely defined by the organization’s need. (2) Group of people who assess, prioritize, accept or reject RFCs. Part of the Change Management process in ITIL.
